Maths Tuition for Years 5 to 11 as well as Adult Learners from Numeracy up to GCSE
Preparation for the following maths exams:- 11+, Key Stage 2 SATS, Numeracy, Common Entrance, GCSE & IGCSE
My maths tuition offers a supported space to learn at each students’ own pace to put them in good stead for the future. I have often been told that I give extremely clear explanations and that I have amazing reserves of patience as well as the ability to instil in my students confidence and enjoyment of the subject. I tailor my tuition to the individual needs of each of my pupils. I nurture a solid foundation in maths by working to fill in any gaps in basic concepts and knowledge of the curriculum. This applies not only to those preparing to enter secondary school but also right through to sitting GCSE level exams. In addition, I cater to adult learners. My aim is to make maths accessible and to build in my students their confidence in the subject. This is frequently the key to success.
Yvette turned our daughter from a maths-fearing under-performer into an A-grade student who achieved a seven score at the end of the course at her local comprehensive school. Yvette is patient and encouraging and instils that most precious of qualities: confidence.
Yvette was fantastic with my son. She always gave him a warm welcome into her home. She was attentive and patient during every session, and she even managed to make Maths relatively enjoyable for him, despite it not being his favourite subject. Ultimately, Yvette can be judged by the grade that my son achieved for GCSE Maths. He eventually managed to achieve a grade 6, which was above both the schools and my son's expectations.
Maths had always been our daughter’s kryptonite; to make matters worse she fell very ill at the start of year 11and ended up missing many weeks of school as a result. At some point we were unsure whether she could sit GCSEs at all that year. Thanks to Yvette’s patience and tutoring style our daughter’s confidence and ability in the subject grew considerably. In the end she went into her exams well prepared and without the fear of the subject that had so crippled her previously, and as a result she received the good grade she had been aiming for. Perhaps more importantly, during that one year our daughter had learnt to almost enjoy maths.
